#treasure ✨✨✨ This incredible document is a claim sheet that Charles Mingus made to the Los Angeles AFM in 1941 for a wage dispute for $7.50 against bandleader, Fred Skinner after being fired from an engagement at the Club Capri. Mingus was 19 years old at the time and working in the Los Angeles jazz scene with the likes of Lee Young, whose brother Lester joined the band the following month after this claim was filed.
